Email marketing can be a contentious segment in the multi-channel marketing system. While we all receive hundreds of emails, it can be difficult to stand out and make an impression. I have consistently created email marketing campaigns – both with existing lists and conquest/paid lists – that perform well above their segment metrics. In the automotive segment, my email marketing designs often resulted in triple the open rate and double the click through rate of the national average. In traditional retail, I utilize a two prong approach – pairing informative emails with sales emails – to garner an open rate a little below 50% and a click through rate above 2%.
